The ingredients mixed up for one of Midori Jewelry Hawaiʻi’s signature artisan concoction finds one hopping across the globe with opals from Peru, amethysts from Brazil and silver from Turkey. Hawaiʻi is the final stop on this trip around the world and is home base for designer and owner Traci Morinaga, who, in 2006, decided to take an unexpected detour from law school and turn her long-standing hobby into a business when motherhood beckoned. In 2008, Traci decided to take on the world of wholesale. The Midori Jewelry Hawaiʻi stockist list quickly grew to over 250 stores.

The Midori Jewelry Hawaiʻi style is classic with a modern flair and a tiny Asian twist and a nod to Hawaiʻi that can last through the seasons. Traci’s inspiration is derived from a spectrum of sources: the latest Vogue to a Margaret Atwood poem to a swatch of fabric... perhaps a lithograph at the Honolulu Academy of Art, or maybe a scenic view atop Maui’s Haleakalā. Creating beautiful jewelry in Hawaiʻi comes naturally -- inspiration is never far away.
 
All jewelry is freshly made in Kailua, Hawaiʻi using the highest quality recycled precious metals, sparkling gemstones, natural shells, an assortment of luminous fresh and salt water pearls and other unique finds. Part of us longs to feel white sand crunch between our toes. We want a flower-scented breeze blowing through our hair.
